Property Price Statements: what changed on 1 October 2026
The short answer
- On 1 October 2026 the Property Price Statement replaced the Statement of Information for homes sold through an agent in Victoria. For auctions and fixed-date sales, it applies to those held from 16 October 2026.
- When a sale goes unconditional, the agent must add the sold price to the statement within 7 days and keep it online for at least 18 months. Wanting privacy is not enough on its own to avoid this.
- For auctions and fixed-date sales held from 16 October 2026, the seller's reserve price must be published at least 7 days before.

02If you're selling
What it means if you're selling
Your sold price will be published
When your sale goes unconditional, the sold price must be added to your Property Price Statement within 7 days. The statement must then stay online for at least 18 months. This includes off-market sales, where the home was never advertised. Source: Consumer Affairs Victoria, Industry Q&As, checked 2 October 2026.
Wanting privacy isn't enough on its own
A seller's or buyer's general preference to keep the price private won't be enough on its own. The only exemption is for family or personal violence involving the seller or buyer. The seller, buyer or agent applies to the Director of Consumer Affairs Victoria within 7 days of the unconditional date. While an application is pending, the price must not be published. Source: Consumer Affairs Victoria, Industry Q&As, checked 2 October 2026.
Agreements signed before 1 October 2026
There is one carve-out. If your written agreement with your agent was signed before 1 October 2026 and it has a term saying the sale price must not be disclosed, the sold price doesn't have to be published. Otherwise the rule covers any sale that goes unconditional from 1 October 2026, even if the home was listed or the contract signed earlier. Selling by auction or by a set date? Your reserve goes public

Inviting offers by a certain date and time could count as a fixed-date sale. Pre-auction offers are treated as a private sale. How we handle it here
- On our listing pages, a home's price statement link sits right under its price, in the first part of the page you see.
- If a home for sale doesn't have its statement on file yet, our page shows “Contact agent” instead of a price until it does.
- Some listings from before 1 October 2026 still link a Statement of Information. We label each file by what it is.
- Our recent sales page lists the team's sales with the month and the price. Some sales from before October 2026 are marked Undisclosed. We only show a price when we know it can be public.
